This site is a small market-research project, not a company with a product. This page explains what we collect, why, and how to reach us about it.
What we collect
Survey responses. Your answers to the survey questions - things like how long you used Postbox, what you're using now, how satisfied you are with it, and any free-text comments you write.
Contact info. Your name (optional) and email address. Email is only required if you say you're interested in beta access; otherwise it's optional but encouraged so we can let you know what happens next.
Attribution info. How you arrived at the site - UTM parameters if present, or the referring page otherwise - plus your browser's user agent string. This tells us which channels (Reddit, forums, search, etc.) are driving responses.
Abuse-prevention data. A one-way hashed version of your IP address, used only to rate-limit survey submissions. We never store your raw IP address.
Aggregate site analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and doesn't track you individually - it just gives us overall visit counts and traffic sources.
What we don't collect
We don't ask for or store payment information, passwords, or any data beyond what's listed above. There's no user account system.
How we use it
- To figure out whether there's real demand for a modern, Postbox-inspired Mac email client.
- To contact you about this project specifically, if you told us you're interested in beta access.
We don't use your data for advertising, and we don't sell it to anyone.
Who has access
Only the small team operating this project has direct access to survey responses. We use a small number of service providers to run the site, each of which processes data on our behalf:
- Supabase - database hosting
- Vercel - website hosting
- Resend - sending the one-time thank-you email
- Cloudflare - bot protection (Turnstile) and website analytics
We don't share your data with anyone beyond what's needed to operate the site.
How long we keep it
We keep survey data while this project is active, so we can analyze results. If you'd like your data deleted, email us and we'll remove it.
Your choices
You can ask us at any time to see, correct, or delete the information associated with your email address by writing to the address below.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, survey submissions are protected against automated abuse, and we don't log survey answers or email addresses outside of the database itself.
Children
This site isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
